How to Buy a Watch

Buying from Chrono24 Watches, step by step

  1. Find the reference. Browse by brand or by type — chronographs, dive watches, GMT, dress.
  2. Read the condition report. Every listing states the grade, service history, what is included, and any cosmetic flaws.
  3. Ask questions. Request extra photos, a movement shot, or a lug-to-lug measurement before you commit.
  4. Reserve the watch. Add it to your cart and check out. The listing is removed from public inventory once your order is placed.
  5. Pay securely. Choose from the methods on our Payment Methods page. Payment details are confirmed to you by email.
  6. Final check and dispatch. The watch is timed, cleaned, re-photographed and packed. Tracking is emailed the same day it leaves us.
  7. Inspect on arrival. You have a return window from delivery — see Returns & Refunds.

Buying advice

Set a budget that includes a service reserve. A watch that has not been serviced in over five years will usually need attention within its first year of ownership. Full sets with box and papers carry a premium but resell faster. Condition of the case — sharp, unpolished lugs — matters more to long-term value than a pristine dial.
