Authentication & Condition Grading

How every watch is authenticated

Authentication is the whole business. A luxury watch marketplace is only as good as its worst listing, so each watch goes through the same process regardless of value.

The checks we run

• Serial and reference verification against the manufacturer’s production data and case-back engraving depth and font.
• Case-back removal and movement inspection — calibre number, finishing, jewel count, rotor engraving and screw slots.
• Dial and hand analysis under magnification: printing crispness, lume colour and ageing consistency, applied index alignment.
• Timing on a calibrated timegrapher in multiple positions, with amplitude and beat error recorded.
• Water-resistance testing on sports references where the case is intact.
• Bracelet and clasp verification — end-link fit, stamping, stretch measurement.

Our condition grades

• Unworn — factory condition, stickers may be present, full set.
• Excellent — light hairlines only, sharp case lines, no visible damage at arm’s length.
• Very good — normal wear, small marks disclosed and photographed, no structural damage.
• Good — visible wear, possible previous polish, fully functional.
• Fair / project — clearly disclosed faults, priced accordingly, sold as-is.

Every grade is backed by our warranty. If an independent watchmaker disputes our authentication, we refund in full.
