What a full set means

Watch, box, warranty card or certificate, booklets, tags and spare links. The premium is real on modern references and larger on vintage, where survival rates are low.

Papers are not authentication

A card can be separated from its watch and cards are forged. Documentation supports a watch; the movement proves it. Where the two disagree, believe the movement.

Archive extracts

Several manufactures issue extracts from their archives confirming the original configuration and delivery date. On six-figure vintage this is the difference between an original dial and a refinished one.

Provenance that moves price

Original ownership records, period receipts, service history from the manufacture, or a documented unusual factory variant all outperform the same reference sold bare.
